Hatcher Law Group recently donated some brand-new children’s backpacks to Classroom Central, a non-profit in Charlotte that provides school supplies to students and teachers in underserved communities.

While the coming school year may look a little different than year’s past, Classroom Central is still committed to equipping students and teachers with the supplies they need to both teach and learn virtually. In fact, remote learning has actually caused an increase in the need for supplies as students are no longer able to attend school in person and share materials.

Katherine Calder, Executive Director of Classroom Central, shared with us what it has been like getting supplies into the hands of students and teachers amidst the COVID-19 pandemic: “Back-to-school this year is far from normal, but the normalcy of children not having the supplies they need to succeed academically remains unchanged.  Yes, learning is happening remotely, but students will still need pencils, paper, glue sticks and crayons to complete their assignments.  There are 127,000 students counting on Classroom Central for support this year—a year where contributions of supplies are down and the need has skyrocketed! Classroom Central is so grateful to Hatcher Law Group for supporting our students this year and encourages others to join them to ensure that children in need don’t fall behind in their learning.”
